Some notes on "Shree Hari-Bhakti-Vilasa" - part 001 (Bilva, Agnidagdha, 12 Names of Shreemati Ganga-Devi and Water Lord Narayana)...

BELOW IS THE SMALL COMPILATION OF VERSES FROM 4TH VILASA OF "SHREE HARI-BHAKTI-VILASA" I LIKED THE MOST. SANSKRIT-HINDI IN PICTURES, BUT I HAVE
PROVIDED GISTS IN ENGLISH AS WELL:

Verse 4.56 says about the cleansing of Shree Krishna Pedestal (पादपीठ - pAdapITha) with bilva and warm water. As you know bilva is the favourite plant of Shreemati MahaLakshmi-Devi.

Verse 4.66 uses very interesting word "amisha" (AmiSa - आमिष), it means "flesh or any non-vegetarian food".

This Verse says that copper dishes may be cleansed by any acid substance (अम्ल) in case they were not touched by non-vegetarian food ("amisha"). In case of contamination with amisha-food only cleansing with fire (अग्निदग्ध - agnidagdha) is strictly prescribed.

Verse 4.102 dedicated to Avahana-Mantra for Shree Tulasi-Archana.

Two subsequent Verses are very beautiful, being dedicated to Dwadasha Namani (12 Names) of Shreemati Ganga-Devi. The 12 Names of Shreemati Ganga-Devi are the following:
1. Nalini 2. Nandini 3. Sita 4. Malini 5. MahaPaga 6. VishnuPadarghyaSambhuta

7. Ganga 8. TripathaGamini 9. BhagiRathi 10. Bhogavati 11. Jahnavi 12. Tridasheshwari

Verses 108-114 dedicated to "Crystal Dhyana" of Bhagavan Shree Vasudeva in connection with the above-mentioned Shree Ganga-Avahana.

This Dhyana is a classic Tantrik Bhuta-Shuddhi - makes a bhakta as pure as crystal and this Dhyana is also an Upaya against all pollutions (dirts - physical, mental and etc.).

Traditionally, Bhagavan Shree Vasudeva is of White Colour (Crystal), so no wonder that this Upaya guarantees transforming a bhakta into "as pure as crystal".

The essense of the Verses 108-114 in brief in English: a bhakta should mediate how Shree Ganga streams from the Lotus Feet of Bhagavan Shree Vasudeva right into bhakta head. Narayana-Mantra also must be repeated during this Bhuta-Shuddhi.

This Dhyana will grant the cleaniness akin to crystal.

And the next Verse (4.115) is a kind of an additon to the above-mentioned Verses from "Shree Narada-PanchaRatra", but it is from "Shree Kurma-Purana".

This Verse says that everyone must remember Bhagavan Shree Narayana during washing/bathing, because Bhagavan Shree Narayana is The Source of water (please see "MahaNarayana-Upanishad" for the details).
