Shreemati BakulaMalika-Devi - The Avatara of Shreemati Yashoda-Devi

This is one of the most exciting moments in "Shree VenkataChala-Mahatmya" - Bhagavan Shree Shreenivasa tells to Shreemati BakulaMalika-Devi why He had fallen in mad love with
Shreemati Padmavati-Devi.

To understand this story better you should know about the Personality of Shreemati BakulaMalika-Devi Who is The Avatara of Shreemati Yashoda-Devi.

I am citing from the following source:

ABOUT SHREEMATI BAKULAMALIKA-DEVI:

"VarahaDev then declared that the area of the anthill area would now belong to Lord Venkateshwar andHe also told Him of a very loving motherly devotee, who personally served Him, whom, He would like to offer for the service of Sri Venkateshwar.

He said, “She can cook for You, she could make this herbal paste for Your wounded head, she will do everything for You; she is Your mother.

Her name is Bakula Mallika, also called Bakula devi.

Bakula devi was previously Yashoda in Lord Krishna’s Lila. She is a partial expansion of Mother Yashoda. And it is said that Krishna left Vrindavan when He was only about ten and a half years old.

And it is natural for a mother to see her children married. Devaki was involved in so many marriages of Krishna, 16,108.

But Yashoda never got any opportunity to do this.

So Krishna knowing her heart, He promised her, “In my next incarnation you will be there to arrange for My marriage.

Then Bakuladevi treated Lord Srinivas just as a mother treats her own child. She would go and collect nice fruits and vegetables.

She used to prepare delicious prasad for Him several times a day.

She would go and get the herbs and make the proper paste, and apply to His head. She would offer Him such sweet words.

She loved Him with such motherly love that Srinivas was so much satisfied, living on this Venkatadari mountain (other names: Seshadari, Narayanadri)".

Now the story from "Shree VenkataChala-Mahatmya":

BAKULAMALIKA'S ADDRESS TO SWOONING SRiNIVASA

6-9. Then at midday the female attendant Bakulamalika prepared divinely excellent meal having good flavour. It was exquisitely splendid and befitting gods.

There were excellent side dishes, pure rice, rice cooked in milk, rice mixed with jaggery, pudding made of green gram and rice etc.

There were five different Apupas (deep-fried pies), Purikas (deep-fried pancakes) and Vatakas (pulse-cakes fried in oil).

Then she hastened to meet the Lord.

She was accompanied by (three other attendants named) Padmavati, PadmaPatra and CitraRekha. She asked all those excellent maidens to wait at the entrance to the Lord's (abode).

Bakulamalika alone went near him.

10-11. After going near the Lord she saluted Him with great devotion. On seeing the Lord lying helpless on the couch inlaid with gems, she massaged His feet. Finding Him lying with His eyes closed deeply engrossed in thought about something, she smiled and spoke to Him thus:

12. "Get up, O Lord of the Chiefs of Devas. Why do you lie down, O Purusottama? Excellent food has been got ready, O Lord. Come to take your food, O Madhava.

13. Why do You lie down like one agonized and distressed? You are the destroyer of the agony and distress of all the worlds. What has been seen by You in the forest, O Lord, as you were ahunting?

14-15. Your plight, O Lord of large eyes, seems to be like that of a love-lorn man. Who was seen, a Deva maiden, a human one or a daughter of a serpent (Adi)? O Lord of Inconceivable Soul, tell me about that girl who has captivated Your mind."

Shree Varaha said:

16. On hearing these words of hers, the Lord heaved a deep sigh. As He sighed thus, BakulaMalika spoke to Him affectionately:

17. "Who is that maiden so attractive even unto You, O Purushottama?"

Bhagavan Shree HrishiKesha told to BakulaMalika: “I shall tell all the facts. Listen."
