How to change the colour of scan from black to blue (for print)

I have published "Shree Gopala-Kavacha"  in blue font today - http://vishnudut1926.blogspot.ru/2013/10/gopala-kavacha-from-shree-narada.html

If you refer to the Book the Kavacha is from, then you will find that it is printed in black.

The following is step-by-step-instruction on changing the colour of font in Photoshop.

1. First, we need to extract the page from PDF into graphic file. In PDF X-change Viewer it is made via "File - Export - Export to Image"

2. The following menu will appear. Choose the page you need and etc. What is crucial here is to choose right DPI.

I usually choose 160DPI. After the parametres are chosen, export to PNG-file (by the way, BMP can also be chosen).

3. Now Photoshop. Before printing, I have decided, that I would print "Shree Gopala-Kavacha"  on A4 double-sided photo matte list, Landscape.

It means, I need 2 separate BMP-files (one side of the list + other side of the list).

Hence, I must create 2 BMP A4-files (Landscape) in Photoshop, that is

a) "File - New"

b) In the following menu choose:

Preset - International Paper

Size - A4

DPI - ????????????? (In Photoshop it is called "RESOLUTION").

Yes, question marks, I will explain why. DPI of exported image must be equal to DPI in Phoshop, so no problems could be encountered while copying the layers (if DPI are different, then the sizes will be grotesque during copy). As you remember, we chose 160DPI in PDF X-Change Viewer (see point 2). So, DPI (RESOLUTION) in Photoshop will be 160 pixels/inch too.

So, everything must be set like on the following image:

4. As you see the file created is not Landscape! It is necessary to rotate it: "Image - Image Rotation - 90CW.

5. Now I open the file which had been extracted from PDF, select the part I need to copy and paste this part into A4 Landscape file (as you see in the lower, right part this part is called "Layer 01" now).

What we need now is the change of the font colour in the "Layer 01".

6. Before I change the colour, I will move the "Layer 01" and change its size.

For moving just choose "Move" (V) tool and move,

For changing size choose just press "CTRL+T" or "Edit - Free Transform.

Now the "Layer 01" moved and enlargened and looks like this:

7. Now, let's change the colour of the font:

A) Choose "Image - Adjustments - Saturation / Hue"

B) Check "Colorize" on the right

C) The parametres are always various for different scans, but for this scan the following parametres are suitable: Hue - 203, Saturation - 100, Lightness - 33

8. The first page is ready.

The same should be repeated for the second part of the text and once 2 new BMP files are ready, you can print them on one matte list.
